Engaging Patients & Maximizing Visits through Telemedicine
Treatment delivery via telemedicine has become an effective way for patients with substance use disorders to continue their treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic and is helping providers treat traditionally hard-to-reach populations. Research shows that telemedicine interventions are associated with high patient satisfaction and are an effective alternative to in-person treatment, especially when access to treatment is otherwise limited. Although telemedicine can be effective, it also poses unique challenges for providers such as regulatory compliance issues, patient engagement considerations, patient access barriers, and the need to transition systems to support virtual delivery of services.
Join this session to hear from a Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of an addiction treatment center that offers multi-disciplinary telemedicine services across the United States and learn how to overcome many of these common challenges.
